Large rosette-shaped badge (with a diameter of 45mm), in the attractive suffragette colours of purple, white and green. Gold-plated finish all round. Purple background with green circle displaying the words "Loyal Service - Deeds Not Words" in gold. On an inner white circle, in the centre of the badge, the letters "W.S.P.U" and the date "1913" appear, also in gold. Gold back and safety pin to rear for easy affixing to garments. High-quality, attractive, reproduction suffragette badge / brooch. Votes for Women WSPU Suffragette Streamer. (Manufactured by Portrayer). Attractive, circular plated gold-coloured metal reproduction brooch / badge with firm safety-pin fitment at the rear for affixing to clothes. The original badge, on which this is faithfully based, was designed by Sylvia Pankhurst for the suffragette campaign in 1909 / 1910. It incorporates the purple, white and green colour-scheme of the Women's Social and Political Union, and depicts a woman stepping through an iron gate and heavy chains, carrying a 'Votes for Women' streamer. 25mm in diameter. Presented in an attractive zip-gift-bag which is clear at the front and shiny silver at the rear. Brand new, in fine condition. pp. Order No. NSBK-C15671
