Pack of 8 greetings cards (8 different designs) which reproduce attractive images on suffragette themes. The images are printed in vibrant lithographic colours. (Please note that the sample electronic image, unlike the cards themselves, is watermarked with a Naomi Symes Books insignia and reduced in quality, to prevent image theft). Card measurements are 6 inches high by 4 inches wide and each card is complete with envelope. Blank interiors for your own message or for any occasion. (The photo in question is held by the British Museum). Image size is 18 X 20 inches, with titles extending the print size to 18 x 23 inches. Printed on 120 GSM archival matt art paper, using photo-sensitive inks, for superior imagery and longevity. Image can be supplied, in thumbnail, upon request. Beautiful suffragette-themed, jewelled Jabot pin brooch, the perfect gift. Modern reproduction, brand new and art-deco in style. Main gem: imitation sapphire. Secondary gems: imitation diamonds. Dimensions: 57mm long and 12mm in breadth at widest point (where main jewel is). With safety pin and chain, and the famous suffragette slogan "Deeds Not Words" engraved on the rear of the main shaft. (These words are the wearer's secret commitment to the "Votes for Women" cause!) Presented with a free purple velvet gift-pouch, which is in turn displayed within an attractive zip-lock gift-bag, clear at the front and shiny silver at the rear. Jabot pins were first used to adorn, or fasten, a dangling ruffle known as a jabot worn by men (on shirts) and women (on dresses) during the 1600s. They became important as an article of jewellery from the Edwardian period onwards - the heyday of the British suffragette movement - and flourished through into the 1930s as a special piece of Art Deco decoration. Beautiful suffragette replica medal, a faithful reproduction of the original Hunger Strike one awarded to suffragettes who had gone on hunger strike (and often been force-fed) in prison. With the appearance of a military-style campaign medal, hunger strike medals were presented to suffragettes by the leadership of the Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU), and honoured those who had gone on hunger strike to to protest against not being recognised as political prisoners. The obverse of the medal is inscribed with the words 'HUNGER STRIKE', whilst the back is blank (where the recipient's name would have been engraved). Materials: Grosgrain ribbon in the famous suffragette colours of purple, white and green (vertical strips). Nickel with an antique-effect silver finish for an authentic "aged-look". A safe, secure pin-clasp at the rear.
