High-quality, attractive, reproduction suffragette badge / brooch. Votes for Women WSPU Suffragette Streamer. (Manufactured by Portrayer). Attractive, circular plated gold-coloured metal reproduction brooch / badge with firm safety-pin fitment at the rear for affixing to clothes. The original badge, on which this is faithfully based, was designed by Sylvia Pankhurst for the suffragette campaign in 1909 / 1910. It incorporates the purple, white and green colour-scheme of the Women's Social and Political Union, and depicts a woman stepping through an iron gate and heavy chains, carrying a 'Votes for Women' streamer. 25mm in diameter. Presented in an attractive zip-gift-bag which is clear at the front and shiny silver at the rear. Brand new, in fine condition. pp. Order No. NSBK-C15671
